Terms and Conditions

By booking a tour with HATAGO, by default you accept the following Terms and Conditions. These Terms and Conditions also apply to bookings made through third-party services and websites. We reserve the right to change our itineraries at any time and at our discretion. We reserve the right to make changes to our Terms and Conditions from time to time.


Once HATAGO has accepted your request for service and your payment has been processed, there is a binding contract between You and HATAGO. If there are any issues relating to the service, you should contact us and we will attempt to resolve the issue.


If you wish to make any changes to your confirmed booking, you must notify us in writing as soon as possible. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to meet any such requests if you submit your request a few days prior.

Your obligations and responsibilities

Upon booking of a service, you will receive a confirmation email that details meeting location and specific meeting time. Guests are asked to arrive at the meeting point 15 minutes prior to the start of the tour. Please contact us if you or your travel companions are running late or need assistance in finding the meeting point; we will do our best to assist you, however, it is your responsibility to arrive on time.

During your tour, your tour guide may take photographs and videos of you and these may be used in our marketing and publicity material without obtaining any further consent. If you wish to withdraw your permission for us using your images or videos of you in our marketing material, please contact us in writing and request that we do not use your image or video recordings. If you make a request to us in writing, we will not use your image or video in any marketing material.

It is your responsibility to have all necessary visas, passports, permits and certificates required for your selected itinerary as well as any necessary vaccinations and to comply with all applicable laws.

Pets are not allowed with the exception of companion dogs for disabled persons.

Cancellation Policy

You are entitled to a full refund if you cancel 15 days or more before the start of the tour. If you cancel 14 days before the start of the tour, we will refund the amount paid less any non-recoverable upfront costs incurred by HATAGO on your behalf – rentals, admissions, reservations, etc. If a cancellation is made less than 24 hours prior to departure, no refund is given. Some exclusions may apply.

If you don’t show up nor make contact with us after the started tour time, we consider you a no-show and no refund will be given.

Please note that the following tours will receive full refunds even if cancellation is made less than 24 hours prior: Traditional Japanese Cuisine and Experience in Yanaka.

The tour may be canceled or rescheduled if it is unable to be taken in the event of a natural calamity or disaster, poor weather conditions, civil disturbance, suspension of services related to transportation or governmental orders, or other circumstances beyond HATAGO’s control.

Health, Disabilities and Medical Conditions

If you have any medical condition or disability which may affect your active participation in your tour, please tell us before you confirm your booking so that we can assist you in considering the suitability of the proposed tour. We are not a specialist disabled tour company, but we will do our best to accommodate special requirements you may have. HATAGO accepts no responsibility for any allergies and/or dietary needs or restrictions of participants. It is your sole responsibility to take care of your own dietary needs.

Limitation of Liability

When you book with us, you accept responsibility for any theft, damage or loss caused by you. Full payment for any such damage or loss must be paid at the time directly to the accommodation owner or manager or other supplier. If you fail to do so, you will be responsible for meeting any claims and/or legal costs that arise as a result of your actions.

There is no travel insurance cover included in the price of the ticket. HATAGO is not responsible for theft or bodily harm that a guest may suffer during, before or after a tour resulting from events beyond our reasonable control. HATAGO strongly recommends that guests arrange travel insurance to cover cancellations and delays due to unforeseen circumstances. Guests agree both HATAGO and any local partner operators are not liable for any such unforeseen circumstances, and hold both parties harmless. All insurance claims must go directly through the insurance provider and not through HATAGO or its affiliates.

Customer Conduct

We ask you to show respect to the customs that exist in Japan. We may, at our discretion, remove any person from a tour if we deem his/her conduct offensive or a nuisance to other guests, or if behaving in such a way as to constitute a risk to his/her safety or to the safety of other guests.. Any guests who have taken part in rascist, offensive, abusive or any other form of discriminatory behavior to any of our guests or to any third party will be excluded from the tour and will receive no refund for any missed services or accommodation. We reserve the right to refuse participation to guests we believe are under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Your tour will be canceled without refund.

Intellectual Property Rights

The materials that you see or read on this website, including all editorial materials, graphics, content, designs, HTML, and other content is owned by HATAGO. Any such content may be displayed and printed for your personal use provided that any copyright notice on such a display or page is not removed. You agree not to use, transfer or distribute any site content in any manner that could compete with the business of HATAGO.

Our status (and that of any identified contributors) as the authors of content on our site must always be acknowledged. You must not reproduce, duplicate, copy or otherwise exploit material on this website for a commercial purpose. You may link to our page, provided you do so in a way that is fair and legal and does not damage our reputation or take advantage of it.

Privacy Policy

All our payments are handled by a third-party provider; we have no access to customers’ credit card information.

Our tour is not operating at the moment and we are working now in new products and services to travel in safety. We are also accepting inquiries from future travels
